First of all, thank you so much to everyone that answered my plea for more nominations! Seriously, all of you rock! The initial 30-something nominees increased to an incredible 169, making Round 16 one of the best since Spuffy Awards started up again last year. Thank you very much for all of your help!

Voting Open!

Now's the time to put your voting power to good use! There are tons of great nominees from which to choose... which makes me happy I don't get a vote! The choices will be tough, but completely worth it! So, stop on by, read the rules (at the top of the vote page), cast your vote, and then help me spread the word! The more votes in, the merrier! Voting will be open from now until January 31, 2009.

If you encounter any problems, please let me know ASAP! Last, but not least...

With only 3 weeks to go before Round 16 closes, Spuffy Awards could really use your help! At the moment, 7 out of the 18 categories are in dire need of nominations in order to qualify for voting/judging. If you have a moment, please nominate your favorite current reads! And don't forget that for this round only, there is a very special category: Classic Spuffy Award, which honors stories written before 2003 that you consider classic Spuffy favorites!

First, thank you to everyone for all your support and patience. I got an overwhelming response for getting things done at my own pace, and you have no idea how grateful I am for that, especially since that same weekend I got bad news from my family. You guys absolutely make this fandom first rate!

Because I am a horrible tease, though, first some announcements!

Spuffy Awards = Virtual Fanfic Archive

Over the last few months I've slowly been working towards making Spuffy Awards a sort of archive of all the stories that have ever been nominated. Though I'm still working on adding all Past Nominees to the site, you can now read a story's summary directly from Spuffy Awards! Just click on whenever it appears next to a nominee's title and the story's summary will appear! Additionally, you can now search the database for that elusive Spuffy story! I hope this is a very useful resource for all you Spuffy lovers!

Special Round 16 Category

Round 16 starts right now and to end the year of Spuffy Award's 5 year anniversary, I added a very special category to the round: Classic Spuffy Award. Here's what it entails:

For stories written prior to or in 2003 and that you consider "classic" Spuffy stories. Can be either written in canon, an alternate universe, or all human/fantasy. Works in progress are okay ONLY if they have at least 5 chapters.

This is an opportunity to pay homage to the great stories written by authors who have come and gone, so start nominating!

Last, But Not Least...

Of course, the Winners of Round 15!!! (I'm using a slightly different format to present the winners, so if you have any problems, please let me know.) Major thanks to everyone who voted, judged, and to Holly for all her work on the awards!

If there's one thing Spike and I have in common, it's that our plans never quite pan out. My sincere apologies for the huge delay. The last 2 months proved to be more hectic than I expected, but now that I've settled into my new place and have my laptop back (I had to ship it for repairs to Houston right before Hurricane Ike struck... my timing sucks), I can hopefully get back on track.

I have the list of winners, but no graphics yet. So... it's up to you. I can post up the winners without the awards or I can wait until I have everything before posting the winners. Comment on the tagboard or my LJ, email me, text me (if you have my phone #... I'm definitely not giving that out! :P)... pick whichever way you want to voice your opinion, just let me know!

At the earliest, it will be a week before winners+award graphics are up, at worst, another 2 or 3 weeks.

Again, I am sorry for the delay... someday, my plans will work out... someday...
